Is Love Blind?
By Pam Fulford If you ever find yourself staring at your partner’s nose...
If you ever find yourself staring at your partner’s nose or wrinkles or lips, imagining straighter or smoother or fuller, you’re not alone. Most men and women would like to change at least one feature on their significant other’s face, concluded a recent survey of 1,000 adults, conducted by the American Academy of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery (AAFPRS).
Of those involved in relationships, 59 percent of women and 54 percent of men said they would like to change something about the face of their significant other.
“This survey shows that love is not blind and, in fact, has an eye for improvement,” says Dr. Keith LaFerriere, AAFPRS president. Be careful how you break that news to your partner though. The survey reveals that if a significant other suggested plastic surgery for them – and offered to pay for it – 58 percent of men and 52 percent of women said they would feel insulted.
